Frisco Rowing Center
Beautiful Scenery and Rowing Venue
Row on the beautiful Lake Dillon in the heart of Summit County, Colorado. The lake spans 3,300 acres and boasts 25 miles of shoreline bordered by Swan Mountain and the majestic peaks of the Gore and Ten Mile mountain ranges. From the Lake you can see the summits of some of the state's 14 thousand footers and the peaks of Breckenridge and Keystone ski resorts. At 9,100 feet in elevation, flatlanders might experience some effects of altitude, on the other hand it is an ideal spot for high altitude training. The rowing season typically runs from early June to October, although some members have been on the water May until November. The Lake is most often mirror calm in the early morning until around 10 am. We do not have water skiing or jet boating. Enjoy the watching the fish jumping or follow the growth of Osprey young in at least 3 nests. We have a variety of other bird life including: great blue heron, pelicans, sea gulls, mergansers. In August water lilies bloom along the shore and in the fall the foliage is spectacular.
